I got this recipe off of my friend Meghan's blog....it looks and sounds sooo good! Making it tonight for dinner and thought I'd pass it along. Also thinking about starting a tab of family recipes I have and want to share! Thanks Meghan!!

3/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup chopped onion

In a bowl combine egg, milk, cheese, oats, onion, salt and ground beef. Mix well. Shape into 8 loaves; place in a greased baking dish. Combine Ketchup, brown sugar & mustard; spoon over loaves. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

Bridalwhaty??

Ok so there is this new hit show called "BridalPlasty" on E. It is about engaged women competing to get plastic surgery's, so that they can look "perfect" on their wedding day. Through out the show there are challenges and which ever bride wins, they get to pick a surgery off of their wish list and have it done. For instance nose job, new teeth, liposuction, get their breasts bigger, and so on. Ok so that is your overview of this show...

What is wrong with these girls! They all think that they can't and won't get married until they look perfect, b/c they want their big day to be perfect. Every week one bride gets cut off the show (b/c this is a competition). Just like when you watch "The Biggest Loser", and they are told "I'm sorry you are not the biggest loser" when they are told to leave, this show also has a saying. When the Bride is told to leave b/c she lost, they are told "you're wedding will still happen, it just won't be perfect". What message are we sending to these women, and to the viewers, especially girls who watch this show.  They pick themselves apart pointing to what they hate about themselves and act like crazy animals trying to win challenges so that they can have plastic surgery. It's a serious competition between these girls, and they all hate the way they look.

News Flash!! God Created us all. He doesn't make mistakes, and everyone He created is beautiful. I'm so sick of women talking bad about themselves and pointing out what they hate about their bodies and obsess about it. Now yes sometimes I fail at doing this, after all we all are human. I sometimes talk about how I want to lose weight because that is something I can control. But i don't hate myself, I love myself.  I am going to always teach and am teaching Halie now, how to love herself and show her how beautiful she is. I don't want her to ever think "I hate my nose" or "I wish I could have plastic surgery". I just think it's really sad that these women hate themselves and the way they look. Take a look at this picture below...it's a before pic, at the beginning of the show...

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it SNOW!!

Yes!! It's snowing today...we are only expecting 2-4 inches, but it is exciting for Halie. She looooves snow which is a good thing because Phil and I love it too! I have a lot of childhood memories of playing in the snow with my brothers. Growing up we lived right by a park that has a huge hill. Everyone in town goes to that hill when it snows and it is always a blast to sled on. My brothers and I would stay out in the snow for hours building snowmen, having snowball fights and building igloos. We all hated shoveling, but of course had to do that too! I'm so excited to show Halie how to make a snowman, and how to make snowballs to throw at her daddy when he's not looking!! Days like these are really comforting...I guess I mean you get to cuddle with your family, play in the snow, and have Hot cocoa. The only thing we are missing is a fire place! but that's ok!

If you go out in the snow, bundle up good it's below freezing today!! annnnnd don't eat yellow snow! ;)

His Will Wednesday!

This Wednesday I am focusing my prayer on becoming "An excellent Wife". Last week I ordered the book "The Excellent Wife- A Biblical Perspective" by Martha Peace and it finally arrived in the mail yesterday. Waiting in anticipation for 6 days I finally opened up the package and knew that this was the start of a new journey. The book is based biblically on how to become a Proverbs 31 wife. With this book I also got the study guide, and last night I did lesson number 1. So far I really like Martha and this book. I want to make major changes in my life and become a more Godly wife, be submissive and understand fully what that means, and to be my husbands helper. I'm excited to read more of this book, learn and grow in becoming an Excellent wife.
There are probably a lot of women/wives out there who think this is probably all nuts and why wouldn't you want to be a power woman and equal to your husband? Well my husband and are 1, but Philip is the head of our household and I fully trust and respect him, and I will be Submissive to him because it is biblical. I want our marriage to please God and honor Him.

Side Note: I just saw that there is a book called "The Faithful Parent" by Martha Peace & Stuart W. Scott- A Biblical Guide to Raising a Family.  I will be reading that after I am finished with "The Excellent Wife". This will be great for Philip and I to read together!

Prayer: God, please help me to understand what it means to become an Excellent wife and what my role is. I open my heart to you as I read this book and pray that you speak to me and change my mind and views to what you want them to be. Help me and other wives who want to live as a submissive wife, and bless our marriages. In Jesus name, Amen.

Oh So Silly!

I love it when Halie gets "the silly's"! It is so great to just roll around on the floor and laugh with your kid(s). Lately Halie has been doing a lot of funny things out of the blue, she is becoming such a comedian! She loves to put on her Daddy's shoes and hat and walk around the house. She once made an attempt to walk around in her Aunt Amber's 3-4 inch high heals and she did it so good! When we pray together, one of the things Halie will pray for is Elmo's blanket, because in "Elmo goes to Grouch land" a mean man steals Elmo's blanket haha. She definitely keeps me laughing throughout the day and it is such a joy to have her as a daughter. When either of us are feeling blue, we get up and dance and will just be silly...and soon the house will be full of laughter!!
Halie loves to help me clean and cook any chance she gets! except when i vacuum...she will run to sit on the sofa and just watch. I think she doesn't like to be near it because it's too loud. She is a great helper and makes "chores" fun when she helps me.
She is also the ultimate tickler! There is not a day that goes by where she won't sneak up on Phil or I and tickle us....it always turns into a tickle war! She is one silly girl and it is one of the many things I love about her!

The Start of a New Year....2011

Well it is now 2011, a start of a new decade and a new year. A lot of people make "New Year Resolutions", to be fun, stop something, or start something. I was thinking about what i could commit to and when I realized what it is, I started to feel really bad and guilty that I don't already commit to doing what I am going to start committing to. I LOVE to read, whenever I get a free moment to myself (when Halie is sleeping) I will read. I usually read novels within a few days to 1 week. According to my husband I'm a fast reader! I can be honest and say that I do not read the Bible everyday. When I look at myself and realize that statement is true, it hurts my heart and I'm sure it's hurts God. I claim he is my best friend, but I don't read His word everyday. I want to put down the novel and pick up the Bible. It's not ok for me to read all together 2 hrs a day/night, and not spend any time reading the Bible. I want to feel like my day isn't complete if I haven't read God's word.
My second New Years Resolution, is keep up with Halie's Scrapbook. I am for the most part caught up on it. There are few events I want to add to it in between her birthdays, but the reason for this is b/c i went for almost a year without touching it. I don't know why really, but I really enjoy scrap booking and and it's important to me for Halie to have it completed and looking really nice for her to have.

Ok so those are my 2 New Year Resolutions! Share with me if you have any you are doing!
